Taylor Swift put her Katy Perry feud to bed yesterday, posting a photo of an olive wreath peace token she accepted from Perry. But it seems Swift is still holding onto her other big feud: the one between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. During her first Reputation concert in Glendale, Arizona, last night, Swift opened up a bit about why Kardashian's Snapchat takedown of her and the use of the snake emoji so deeply affected her two years ago.
This is her first time really talking about the impact of that summer besides in her Reputation song lyrics. She didn't even need to say Kardashian's name to make her point.
"A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on," she started solemnly to the crowd. "And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was going to get to do this anymore and I guess the snakes—I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name-calling to bully you on social media and even if a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to defeat you. It can strengthen you instead."
